Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Cintropic collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. Cintropic is run by Jacinta Austin in Rolleston, Canterbury, New Zealand.

What I collect

When you ask for a free website review: your name, email address, business name, website address, what you tell me isn’t working, and your phone number if you choose to give it.

When you send a message: your name, email address and message.

When you visit the site: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. It records things like the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your browser type and your country. It doesn’t identify you or follow you across other sites.

I also use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use the site, so I can make it easier to use. Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and shows heatmaps and replays of visits. It uses cookies to recognise a returning visitor. Anything you type into a form is hidden from the recordings. Clarity is run by Microsoft, which stores this data overseas. You can read how Microsoft handles it in the Microsoft Privacy Statement, or block it by turning off cookies for this site in your browser.

I also use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, how they found the site and which pages they look at, so I can improve it. It sets cookies on this site to recognise a returning visitor. Google’s advertising features are turned off, and Google Analytics never receives your name, your email or anything you type into a form. Google stores this data overseas. You can read how Google handles it in the Google Privacy Policy, or block it by turning off cookies for this site in your browser or with Google’s opt-out add-on.

Counting what works: the site also keeps simple counts of its own: how many review requests and messages come in, and how often someone taps the email link, a free review button, the “Let’s have a chat” link for people without a website, or a “Visit site” link on the Work page. Each count holds only the date, the page and which button. No names, no cookies, nothing that could identify you.

Why I collect it

To write your review, reply to you, and, if you ask, give you a price for work. I don’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing.

Where it goes and who can see it

Form details are sent to me by email through Resend, an email delivery service. The website doesn’t store them. Resend keeps a copy of the emails it sends for a short time as part of delivering them.
When you ask for a free website review or send a message, Resend also sends a confirmation email to the address you give, with a reference number, so you know I’ve got it.
My email is hosted by Google (Gmail). Your details stay in my inbox for as long as I keep them (see below).
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also stores the counts above and runs a spam check (Turnstile) on the forms. Turnstile looks at technical signals like your IP address and browser to tell people from bots.
Microsoft Clarity receives the visit recordings described above.
Google Analytics receives the visit data described above.

Some of these services store information outside New Zealand. I use them because they have strong security and privacy commitments, and I share only what each one needs to do its job.

Only I, and the services above where they need to in order to deliver it, can see your details. I never sell or share them with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep review requests and messages for 12 months after we last talked, then delete them.

If you become a client, I keep project records as long as I need them for the work and for tax.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Email hello@cintropic.nz and I’ll respond within 20 working days.

If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
