Digital systems that work together

Jacinta Austin, web designer and founder of Cintropic

Hi, I'm Jacinta

For almost 20 years working in retail, hospitality and events, I watched businesses lose customers. Their information online would be out of date or people didn’t even know they existed because they couldn’t be found or they didn’t have a website.

Even the ones with a website often had a site that didn’t reflect how great they actually were. Their expertise was in their service or trade, not web design. Or, they had a website, but still had to take message enquiries to get people to book and take payments by cash or bank transfer.

Then I went back to study in 2016, got a Bachelor of Communication degree from Massey and moved into digital work. Most recently I was in a digital team in Canterbury’s health sector, looking after their public website and extranet for health professionals. Before that I worked for a Christchurch charity, where I moved them onto a fit-for-future database and emailing system.

I build websites for people who aren’t techy, so a customer can find everything they need, right through to booking with you, without ever needing to reach out for help first. Tradies, beauty services, small business… I’ve got you!

I’m adaptable, and I pick up new systems quickly. Whatever you already use, or add later, I’ll get it working with the rest.

The story behind Cintropic

I'm Jacinta (Cinta for short), and Cintropic is my name mixed with "syntropic".

Syntropy is the opposite of entropy. With entropy, once something is created it starts moving toward disorder and decay, which is what happens with websites.

Syntropy is systems moving toward order and structure, cooperating with each other, like a forest regenerating or the way Canterbury's braided rivers feed into each other. Each smaller part contributing to the wider design.

That's what I aim for with your website: a coherent system that works alongside your booking app, Google, contact forms and payments, and grows more connected over time while working together.

The Cintropic logo: a C of green leaves weaving together
  • #102818
  • #2FBA68
  • #5FA383

You'll see both in the brand. The logo was designed around Canterbury's braided rivers weaving together, and the greens work together like a diverse forest. The darkest one is my favourite colour; it reminds me of pounamu.

How I work

  • Plain English

No jargon. Ask me anything and I'll explain it without making you feel silly for asking.

  • Fixed prices

You know the cost before I start. No surprise invoices.

  • It's all yours

Your domain, site and accounts are set up in your name, not mine, and you get an exit pack at launch, so you're never stuck with me.

  • Just me

You deal with the person doing the work, from the first email to launch day.

  • Anywhere in NZ or Australia

I'm in Rolleston, but most of this happens over email and video calls, so wherever you are in Aotearoa New Zealand or Australia doesn't matter.

Not sure what's holding your site back?

Flick me your link and I'll tell you what I'd fix first, for free.
